Care Packages through the end of June are a celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month. I know it’s not much, but I want to put as much support as I could into the world, and this seemed like a good way to add a bit more. Happy Pride Month.

Travel/History: All the entries here through the end of June come from nyclgbsites.org, an excellent website that documents the historical and cultural locations in New York City that are associated with the LGBTQ community.
From roughly 1925-1927, singer and actress Ethel Waters lived at 580 St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan. She never came out publicly, but she was celebrated by lesbians in Harlem, as was her girlfriend, dancer Ethel Williams. For more information, visit www.nyclgbtsites.org/site/ethel-waters-residence/.
