Care Packages through the end of June are a celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month. I know it’s not much, but I want to put as much support as I could into the world, and this seemed like a good way to add a bit more. Happy Pride Month.

Travel/History: All the entries here through the end of June come from nyclgbsites.org, an excellent website that documents the historical and cultural locations in New York City that are associated with the LGBTQ community.

The statue that stands on top of Bethesda Fountain in Central Park is Angel of the Waters, a sculpture created by lesbian sculptor Emma Stebbins in the 1860s. Stebbins’ piece was the first public artwork to be displayed in NYC. For more information, visit www.nyclgbtsites.org/site/bethesda-fountain/.
