Care Package: 1. A parcel of food, money, or luxury items sent to a loved one who is away. 2. A digital gathering of cultural touchstones on ethandezotelle.com, put together to brighten your day a bit.

Thirteen years ago today, my editor and friend Pete Hartt passed away. I’ve written about him here on the blog before, and you can read that here. Today’s Daily Care Package is dedicated to him and the legacy of newspaper reporters, high school students, and people in general that he inspired with his wisdom, humor, and kindness.
I miss you all the time, my friend

WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH: Pete loved his mom deeply, and he took care of her in her later years. As I face the needs of my own aging parents, Pete continues to be a role model for me.
