A Week In Vermont (Day 6)
Poetry: Pledge by Elizabeth Powell
Republic, your cool hands
On my schoolgirl shoulders.
Not sure what allegiances meant
Until the vows were held by heart,
By memory, by rote, by benign betrothal.
Lyrical: Lines and Circles by Strangefolk
Time and time and time again/Circles break and lines they bend/And you, got to let it go
Quote: “Wishing isn’t doing.” – Vermont proverb
