It’s July 20. A Monday. (I had to double check that to make sure.)
The year – I won’t say its name; it doesn’t deserve the recognition – is a little over half over. I’m sure that most of us will be happy to bid it farewell this winter. Not that it’ll matter. Time is a construct, and so are dates.
Anyway …
I was looking at the stats on the other side of the curtain at ethandezotelle.com, and I discovered something surprising and delightful. It bears mentioning and a thank you.
As of last week, the blog had twice as many visitors as it did over the entirety of 2019. That’s amazing, and it means so much that so many people around the world – literally thousands – spend a little time each day checking out what I’m posting.
Granted, I’ve posted a lot more stuff this year than I did last year, but frankly, that’s only half the battle. If you’re not showing up, I’m just screaming into the digital void. The success of ethandezotelle.com is down to you, and I want you to know that I appreciate your support and interest.
I’ve hit a few low points over the past few months, and more than a few of those times, what’s turned things around is someone telling me the Care Packages help them out, that they enjoy reading Shelf Life, or that the stupid thing I wrote that made me laugh made them laugh, too. That’s a wonderful thing.
My hope for the days, weeks, and months to come is to get back to posting more, like I was this spring. But there’s a lot of stuff up in the air right now, life-wise, and the only certainty is uncertainty. I’ll do my best.
Again, thanks so much for your support. If you enjoy this blog half as much as I appreciate your interest, then I feel good about what I’m doing here.
Take care of yourself and each other.
You have a true talent and people are recognizing it finally.
