Care Package for Sunday, March 1, 2020

Today is the one-year anniversary of posting Care Packages here on my blog!

I spent most of Feb. 28, 2019, at a coffee shop, waiting for recall work to be done on my Subaru Outback. I filled the time with work on my novel and trying to figure out a fun way to create daily posts on ethandezotelle.com without consuming a ton of time. After fiddling around with a few concepts, I ended up with the Care Package concept, started it the next day, and it’s been big success.

Aside from a handful of days when I was unable to post due to tech issues, there’s been a new Care Package every day of the past year. With a few to spare, thanks to Bonus Care Packages here and there. In fact, before the month is half over, there’ll be more than 400 Care Packages available for visitors to enjoy.

Over the next week, in addition to regular Care Packages, I’ll post a Bonus Care Package each day. These will pull the curtain back a bit on who I am and what I enjoy. As a rule, Care Packages represent things I like, but these will very much be purely as an expression of me.

I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you keep coming back for more each day!

Poetry: Dear Gaybashers by Jill McDonough
The night we got bashed we told Rusty how
they drove up, yelled QUEER, threw a hot dog, sped off.
Rusty: Now, is that gaybashing? Or
Are they just calling you queer? Good point.
