Care Packages through the end of June are a celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month. I know it’s not much, but I want to put as much support as I could into the world, and this seemed like a good way to add a bit more. Happy Pride Month.

Travel/History: All the entries here through the end of June come from nyclgbsites.org, an excellent website that documents the historical and cultural locations in New York City that are associated with the LGBTQ community.

Alice Austen, a ground-breaking photographer whose work included some of the first photographs of women dressed in male drag, grew up here before later living in the house with her partner, Gertrude Tate. The house was saved from demolition in the mid-20th century. For more information, visit www.nyclgbtsites.org/site/alice-austen-house/.
