Care Package for June 10, 2019

Care Packages through the end of June are a celebration of LGBTQ Pride Month. I know it’s not much, but I want to put as much support as I could into the world, and this seemed like a good way to add a bit more. Happy Pride Month.

Judson Memorial Church, located on Washington Square in NYC, was one of the first churches to participate in Pride marches in the 1970s and stood at the forefront as a provider of compassionate love and care to those suffering from AIDS in the 1980s. Something Extra:

Until 1973, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) listed homosexuality as a mental illness on its list of official mental illnesses. It was removed that year by the American Psychiatric Association’s board of directors, a move supported by a vote from the ASA’s members.
