Discovering new music is always a great experience. But when it’s brought to you by one of your kids, it’s one of the best gifts ever.
Out for a drive this afternoon, my youngest kid (19, so no, not really that young) was playing a mix on the car stereo. I’d been enjoying the listening, but nothing had really pulled me in.
Then this song came on.
“These guys always this good?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
“Cool.”
We nodded at each other in the way that happens when wisdom is shared.
Animals In the Attic have a special sound. I’m listening to them as I write this. Is retro-introspection a thing? Because this might be that.
In their bio on YouTube, Animals In the Attic describe themselves as making music that is “meant to give tranquility to a generation filled with anxiety.”
That approach really comes through.
I don’t want to risk ruining your first time hearing these guys with my half-baked description. So I’ll stop now.
Go listen. Then you can thank my kid.
So I’ll stick around, work it out
